At my school, we have a "Wow Rep" who is responsible for doing a little something each month that might make the teachers say, "Wow, that was nice!" Last year, that was me. ( I really only wanted the job because I thought the title rocked).
One of the crafts I made was a "Teacher's Emergency Coffee Kit". I made these before I started blogging so I have no in-progress shots but plenty of final shots you can see.
First, I went to a local, family owned restaurant and asked them to donate some coffee cups, tops and swizzle sticks for me. Theirs were already white without a logo so they were perfect.
I also took one of their coffee sleeves and took it apart to make a template so that I could make my own decorated coffee sleeve. I cut out sleeves from white card stock and stamped (using
Mavry pens) in rainbow the word "inspire" on the coffee sleeve. I also colored the edges of the sleeve with the same markers to add a little pizazz. I then glued the sleeve onto the coffee cup. For those of you who are detail oriented - the first coffee cup in the right hand row above has "hope" on it - I did that for one of our teachers who was recovering from breast cancer.
Next, I took one
Starbucks Via instant coffee, a packet of sugar, sweet and low and a little creamer container and placed it inside the cup. Again, sorry no photos but you get the idea.
Then I punched a 1 and a half inch circle of pretty scrapbooking paper and taped it to the top of the lid, typed out a list of all the teacher's names, cut that out and taped across the punched circle.
Lastly, I printed out pages that said "Teacher's Emergency Coffee Kit" and "Thanks a Latte". I punched them out and colored the edges to match the sleeve. Taped those bad boys to the wooden coffee stirrer, placed it in the cup and voila! A cute little "WOW" item for our teachers.
And that is it! Now I need to go find some sites to link up to so you can see my cute (if I do say so myself) Teacher Emergency Coffee Kits.
Thanks for visiting - I am a new blogger and love feedback and assistance. Please feel free to comment and spread the word! Shannon
