About me

Hi!  I'm Shannon.   What you might want to know about me:

1.  I'm a stay at home mom of two girls ages 6 and 8.  I used to be a highly paid executive but now the only thing that gives me respect is the family fish.   I believe that when you decide to have kids you have a responsibility to raise them and I've spent the last 8 years doing that. But now that both of my kids are in school full-time I'm looking to find my next career.  I hope you will follow me along this journey.

2.  This blog is a work in progress.  When my blog grows up I hope I can be a voice for women looking for a place to celebrate that as moms, we are irreplaceable to our children.  As wives, we have the power and responsibility to support and delight our husbands.  As homemakers, we have the most important job in the world.

3.  I get irked easily.  Really - anything can set me off:   bad customer service, mothers who abandon their kids in daycare to work when they don't have to,  messing up my pedicure the minute I leave the nail shop.  I'm lucky that I have a husband who is a good listener.

4.  I'm originally from the south.  And I miss it. You can read about that here.   I constantly remind my husband that even though he thinks I am "Californiaized" I am still 3/4 Southern.  It's hard to shake that many years of culture - or lack there of.

5.  I love cake.  Really - if you don't believe me, check this out.

  1. You had better fish than I did! But I always got the last laugh as they swirled their way down the toilet after death.

    1. If you want the fish to live, they die and if you want them to die they live. My "family" fish just wouldn't go home to join all his fishy brothers and sisters. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Welcome to the world of blogging!

We've had 2 goldfish that have survived (not sure how) letting their water get down to about 2 inches of murkiness! They do come to the glass when I walk by so I think I have their respect!

My biggest peeve is bad drivers (or maybe I just have tons of road rage)!

You had me at cake and Lindsay Wagner (I dressed as her one Halloween as a kid)!

So glad you linked to our party! New follower (RSS - I no longer have GFC).
