Home Tour - how to decorate a landing

Does a landing count as a room?  I'm actually including the landing as a teaser for tomorrow (or the next day) when I finish my post about my gallery walls on my stairwell.  If you look hard enough, you can see the hints of the pictures on either side of the landing.

The stairwell gets so much light it is hard to photograph..  I keep waiting for a cloudy day but we don't get a lot of those here in sunny SoCal.  The bench is from Anthropologie - the leather rooster pillow was a huge splurge from a local home decor store.  I fell in love immediately.  The antique tin that the flowers are in and the antique butter churn looking thing is from Roger's Gardens here in Corona del Mar.

I wanted a monotone look to the landing - to match the timbre of the photos on the walls....
